Adopt a La'al Marra
How To Adopt A La'al Marra
Step 1
Browse Our List of Current Dogs (Scroll Down)
Start by exploring our list of dogs currently looking for homes. Each profile includes key information such as personality, needs, and ideal home environment. If you see a dog who might be the right fit, take your time to read through their details carefully — this helps make sure both you and the dog have the best chance at a happy match. If you don't see a perfect match, please fill in an adoption application with as much detail as possible about the kind of dog you are looking for. We can still go through the approval process and then let you know when we have suitable dogs for you to choose from. Adopters on our waiting list get first refusal of dogs ready for adoption, so most La'al Marras do not need to be advertised on the website at all.
01
Step 2
Click on the Apply to Adopt button
Once you've found a dog or have a type of dog in mind you're ready to apply for, click the "Apply to Adopt" button below or next to the dogs profile. This will take you to our online application form, where we ask a few questions to learn more about your family, lifestyle, and what you're looking for in a dog. We use this to ensure that every adoption is safe, ethical, and in the best interest of the dog.
Applications include Proof of ID, Proof of Address, Proof of permission to keep pets in a rental property, photos of your home and a short video of your home. In applicable cases owners of banned breeds may be asked to show their exemption certificates and those requesting to adopt an unneutered or unspayed dog may be asked for proof of neutering or spaying of existing pets in the home.
02
Step 3
Book your homecheck!
After reviewing your application, a member of our team will be in touch to arrange your homecheck. This is a friendly visit (either in person or via video call) to chat through your setup, answer any questions you have, and make sure your home is safe and suitable for the dog you've applied for. Once passed, you'll be ready to welcome your new La'al Marra.

Our Available Dogs
Please scroll down to meet all of our available dogs. All dogs available for adoption currently live in a family home.
Microchip & Vaccinations
All dogs currently available for adoption are microchipped and will have at the very least their first vaccination. If a dog requires their second vaccination potential adopters will be made aware of this.
Health Checks
All dogs available for adoption have been cleared by our vet as happy, healthy and ready to find their family.
For some dogs there will be travel limits advised by the vets which will be visible on their profile.

Assessing
All dogs currently available for adoption are currently living in family homes, whether still with their original family or in foster care.
All dogs have been extensively observed interacting with dogs, cats, children, and strangers. Training and behaviours are assessed and extenstive information about the dog is shared with any suitable applicant.
Spaying & Neutering
Some of our unspayed and unneutered dogs will be subject to a spay or neutering contact. This could be due to age, health, timing of seasons or to avoid unneccessarily long stays in foster placements.
We endeavour to spay and neuter as much as possible while dogs is in our care, but funding is limited and we rehome as responsibly as possible while ensuring that dogs do not remain stuck in kennel spaces or foster care.
Our adoption fees reflect the possibility that adopters may need to spay or neuter their new pet.

Dexter
4 Year Old
Male
Miniature Dachshund
Neutered
- Dog Friendly after slow, sensible introductions
- NOT Cat Friendly, Chases Cats
- Child Friendly, 5+
Location: Cumbria, England. Transport can be arranged across mainland Britain.
Dexter is hoping to find his forever home after a change in his owner’s circumstances. He’s a loving, affectionate boy with a big heart and an even bigger personality.
Dexter is friendly with other dogs when introduced slowly and sensibly. He currently shares his home with his brother Rusty and a larger dog without issue, and he’s also experienced with busy doggy daycare environments and overnight stays with a dogsitter. Like his brother, he cannot live with cats — he finds them far too exciting to resist chasing.
He’s gentle with children and especially enjoys cuddles — if given the chance, Dexter will happily spend hours being held and snuggled. He knows basic commands, walks nicely on a collar and lead, and travels comfortably in the car for several hours at a time.
Dexter is crate trained, though he may have accidents if left too long, and he struggles with separation anxiety, so he needs a home where he won’t be left alone for extended periods.
Medically, Dexter has pancreatitis, which is well-managed on a controlled raw diet of meat, fruits, and vegetables. His new family will need to continue this routine to keep him happy and healthy.
In the right home — one that can give him structure, company, and plenty of affection — Dexter will be the most loyal, snuggly companion you could ask for.

Rusty
4 Year Old
Male
Miniature Dachshund
Neutered
- Dog Friendly after slow, sensible introductions
- NOT Cat Friendly, Chases Cats
- Child Friendly, 5+
Location: Cumbria, England. Transport can be arranged across mainland Britain.
Rusty is searching for a new forever home due to a change in his owner’s circumstances. He’s a lively boy with a big personality who loves being around people and joining in with family life.
Rusty is sociable with other dogs after slow, sensible introductions. He currently lives happily with his brother Dexter and a larger companion, and he’s also enjoyed time in doggy daycare with groups of 30+ dogs as well as weekends with a dogsitter. He does, however, like to chase cats and will pester them if he catches them, so a cat-free home is essential.
He’s good with children, enjoys playing fetch, and has a cheeky habit of burying his toys in his bed. Rusty walks well on a harness and lead, knows basic commands, and travels comfortably in the car for up to 3–4 hours. He can be reactive to passing cars, barking or lunging a little, and may pull towards dogs or people out of excitement. With patient handling and consistency, this can be improved.
Rusty is crate trained but may have accidents if left too long, as he struggles with separation anxiety. For that reason, he will need a home where he isn’t left alone for long periods.
Medically, Rusty has calcification in one area of his spine and takes daily pain relief to keep him comfortable. Despite this, he remains an active, playful, and affectionate boy who just wants to be loved and included.
Rusty will thrive in a home that can offer him company, gentle structure, and plenty of affection. In return, he’ll give endless loyalty and keep you entertained with his big, loving personality.

Brian
22 Month Old
Male
French Bulldog
Intact (Contract)
- No Other Dogs
- No Experience With Cats
- Children 5+
Location: Cumbria, England. Transport can be arranged all across mainland Britain.
La'al Marras Gary and Brian are littermates that no longer want to share their toys, home or family. They were living with three other dogs but have decided to branch out on their own and find their own families after squabbles between themselves and with the other dogs kept escalated.
Brian has recently arrived in foster care and is doing brilliantly. He has a lot of anxieties around other dogs, and is still being slowly introduced to the other dogs in the home, but so far it is really positive.
Brian is a limpet, and he likes to sit on your knee and cuddle you all the time. He is very good and gentle with children, even taking treats very gently.
Brian has an elongated soft palate and thin nasal passages which obstruct his breathing. Due to this additional stress on his body he is unable to enjoy lengthy walks or vigorous exercises, and would not suit a home with a lot of stairs. Brian also has sleep apnea and can stop breathing, needing his brain to manually override his breathing by jerking him awake, this can be frightening for people who are not familiar with this. Brian only has one descended testicle, like his brother Gary.
On arrival Brian was terrified of being outdoors or on a lead, but he is making brilliant progress. He jumps to defend himself if another dog challenges him but he does not start any trouble. He sticks with his person and is very responsive to commands he is learning. He is currently walked on a collar and loose braid lead.
Available to Foster or Adopt

Phyllis 'Big Phil'
5 Year Old, English Bulldog
Unspayed (Contract)
NO Dogs
Dog-Savvy Cats
NO Children
Location: Cumbria, England. Phyllis can travel to anywhere in mainland Britain.
Big Phil was given this name to boost her reputation amongst the other dogs as she arrived with a much smaller bulldog who was pushing her around. They lived together in the lock-up at the back of a furniture warehouse for 18 months before a lovely lady heard of their plight and helped to liberate them.
Phyllis is a lovely La'al Marra but due to her difficult past she has a few triggers and behavioural issues which are fear based. Her little potato body lacks an external tail (pocketed tail) and she has a 'mean' set face which can make body language difficult to read for people and dogs alike.
She builds a strong bond with a primary caregiver, so ideally needs a single person household as she can become protective of her chosen human. She enjoys a social sniff of other dogs but becomes overwhelmed quickly with dogs in her space or near her possessions. Phil cannot be crated due to anxieties that make her very defensive of the space, and she needs an owner who can reassure her by taking charge in a situation that triggers her.
For an English Bulldog, her breathing is very good and she is able to enjoy her walks. It is not recommended to spay Phyllis due to her age.
Foster or Adopt

Sylvia
2 Year Old, Belgian Malinois X Labrador
Unspayed (Contract)
Dog Friendly
Cat Friendly
Children 5+
Location: Cumbria, England. Transport can be arranged across mainland Britain.
Sylvie is a fantastic La'al Marra. She was rescued from a backyard breeder as a very young pup and was nursed back to health. Once she was well enough to move along she sadly fell victim to the 'Curse of the Black Dog' and has been overlooked time and time again, seeing all her foster friends leave before her.
She is very clever and eager to please her people, she values connection over any toy or treat. She is very energetic, and has fantastic recall so is the perfect dog to take on long walks to quiet beaches.
Sylvia is bark reactive to strangers coming in to her home, and this has been due to a series of unfortunate events which has made her distrustful of new people. She needs slow introductions but then will be your best friend for life and is incredibly devoted.
Sylvie has been brilliant with every animal she has ever met, from the revolving door of foster dogs, to cats, to small furries and birds. She is great with children, especially when children are feeling unwell and enjoys a cuddle with children in the household.
She walks very well on her lead and is used to regular train travel, though will bark when it is busy or people approach her.
Adopt ONLY

Bella
4 Year Old, Exotic Mini Pocket Bulldog
Unspayed (Medical Contract)
Dog Selective
Dog-Savvy Cats
Children 12+
Location: Cumbria, England.
Adoptive home MUST be in the local area, meet and greets with any household dogs mandatory.
Bella became a La'al Marra when her owner could no longer take care of her or their other dog, Mabel. They both arrived together, in need of urgent vet care and bickering between themselves. Mabel was well enough to be rehomed before Bella, as Bella has ongoing health problems.
Bella needs daily medication, a specialist diet, and will never be able to be spayed for health reasons. She will experience flare ups of her conditions where she goes through cycles of hair loss, difficulty breathing and phantom pregnancies.
Bellas future home will need to be very understanding and accommodating, and understand the level of commitment that such a special dog needs.
Since arriving in foster care and becoming part of the fixtures and fittings, Bella has made friends with several dogs. She is a fussy little lady and decides immediately if she will be best friends or mortal enemies with a dog. She enjoys grooming her friends, cleaning their ears, and snuggling to sleep...she will also play and chase with even more select friends.
Bella loves her toys, and enjoys chasing the garden hose. She is a thrill-seeker with water so needs constant supervising near any bodies of water, big or small. She is a typical little bulldozer and will run through people and objects if she is fixated on something.
She is a crazy cat lady and ADORES the foster cat. She cries to get to him when she sees him, and will occasionally chase him to try and give him all the love. She can be rehomed with a cat, but the cat needs to have a clear escape route from her heavy pawed affections.
Adopt ONLY

Kevin
3 Year Old,
Olde Tyme Bulldog
Intact (Contract)
Dog Friendly (still learning manners)
No Cat Experience
Children 12+
Location: Cumbria, England but can travel anywhere mainland Britain.
Kevin (by choice), became a La'al Marra when a dog named Bane was surrendered by his very loving family when their newborn baby suffered a severe allergic reaction to him. He decided only his first family could call him by his first name as he has ignored every attempt staff have made to get his attention and will only answer to Kevin.
Kevin is a very sweet, playful boy but can get a little boisterous and humpy with dogs and humans. He is still learning his manners. He walks well on a harness and lead, but will pull like a train on just a collar.
Although Kevin has met, played with and lived with dogs of all shapes and sizes, we feel that dogs his own size or bigger would be better as housemates for him. He loves to play with other dogs and has no idea of his strength, and could potentially squash a much smaller dog. He has positive experiences with young children, but again, he is a chonky boy who is a bit clumsy so we will only rehome him with older children.
Kevin is on a specialist diet, and has had re-occuring ear infections which he is more susceptible to. He is not neutered and will therefore be subject to a neutering contract.

Let Us Know Your Circumstances
Location: Mainland Britain
Most of our dogs find their homes before they need to be advertised through our website. We keep a waiting list of approved homes who are matched with any new intakes that match their criteria.
We help with a lot of welfare cases, and due to the sensitivity of these cases we never publicly advertise these dogs. This can be due to ongoing police or RSPCA cases, families fleeing domestic violence, and unintentional neglect due to crisis amongst other things.
All of our dogs have the same thorough assessments, and many will of spent time with foster carers before becoming ready for rehome.
So if you don't see your perfect fit, please reach out and register your interest so we can let you know when we do have a dog that needs You.
Adoption Fees
We are entirely non-profit, our adoption fees go directly towards supporting the next la'al marra that needs our help.
Foster to Adopt
We sometimes have dogs in our care which are Foster or Adopt, which can also be Foster to Adopt.
This usually means there is no current foster placement with space to take them on from their current placement or they would be better suited to another type of foster home.
In these circumstances it is beneficial for the dog to be placed in a family home as soon as possible for continued assessment if needed and to ensure home environment socialisation is continued as much as possible.
We also occasionally have Foster to Adopt La'al Marras who have been in their primary foster placement for a long time and need a little boost to get them in to a home to allow us to keep our busiest foster homes in rotation.
£Donation
La'al Marras Under Yan
Puppies, and older puppies up to 12 months.
Although they may seem like a blank slate, our younger dogs often arrive with just as many needs as the older ones — sometimes more. The first year is critical for shaping their behaviour and well-being, so we take extra care to ensure they’re placed in committed homes that understand the responsibility of raising a dog through adolescence.
Your £250 fee contributes toward essential early care, including vaccinations, microchipping, flea and worm treatment, vet check-ups, and where possible, neutering or a voucher toward it. It also helps cover the training, food, and equipment they may have needed in foster care.
This adoption fee supports their solid start — and makes room for the next little one who needs us.
£250
La'al Marras 1yr+
This fee covers the majority of our dogs.
By the time they are ready for adoption, these dogs have typically been transported to a suitable available foster home, and spent time being assessed. Foster homes are also where they’ve received vet care, and plenty of love, which a lot of our La'al Marras need to be adoption ready.
We do our best to match each dog with the right home, based on their needs and personality — and we’re happy to guide you through that decision.
Your adoption fee of £150 helps cover a small part of the cost of care, including vaccinations, microchipping, parasite treatment, neutering (where possible), and food during their stay with us. The rest is supported through donations and fundraising, so every adoption truly makes room for the next life we can save.

Below are some of our beloved La'al Marras who were lucky enough to find their family.

Gary
22 Month Old
Male
French Bulldog
- Calm, Respectful Dogs Only
- Dog-Savvy Cats, Gary is scared of the foster cat.
- Children 7+
🐾 Gary’s Happy Ending
La’al Marras Gary and Brian, two French Bulldog littermates, decided that sharing toys, homes, and families simply wasn’t for them anymore. After some escalating squabbles between themselves and the other dogs in their previous home, the boys came into rescue to start fresh — each looking for a family to call their own.
During his time in foster care, Gary made incredible progress. When he first arrived, he was anxious about the outside world and found walks overwhelming. With time, patience, and the support of his foster family, Gary learned that adventures on the lead can be exciting rather than scary. He also overcame much of his nervousness around other dogs, forming genuine friendships with the calmer residents in his foster home after slow, steady introductions.
Gary’s separation anxiety improved dramatically thanks to consistent crate training, and his confidence began to shine through. Beneath his boisterous, stubborn exterior was a charming, affectionate character who adored cuddles and kisses. He filled the home with laughter — especially with his signature “meow” noises and little squeals of joy when excited!
Like many Frenchies, Gary had his quirks, but mattered most was his heart: playful, loving, and loyal. He loved games of hide and seek, wrestling with his toy crocodile, and giving gentle “lizard blep” kisses to anyone within reach.
And now, Gary has found his perfect match — a wonderful couple who instantly fell in love with his cheeky grin and gentle nature. He’s settled beautifully into his new home, where he’s cherished, adored, and finally living the happy, peaceful life he deserves.
Congratulations, Gary — you did it! 💛

Star
3 Year Old
Female
Staffordshire Bull Terrier
- Dog Friendly, but can find females more difficult to read
- Not Cat Tested
- Child Friendly, 7+
Star joined La’al Marras when her previous circumstances meant she was spending too much time alone and moving between different homes. A kind friend stepped in to keep her safe, but as only one dog was allowed in the household, Star still needed somewhere permanent to call her own.
She didn’t have to wait long — as soon as her new dad met her, he knew she was the one. Star is now living her best life as a truly pampered princess, with all the love, time, and stability she deserves. We couldn’t have wished for a better match — her dad adores her, and the bond they share is everything we hope for in an adoption.

Digger
5 Year Old
Male
Staffy X
Dog Friendly
No Cat Experience
Children of All Ages
Digger had been with his first family since puppyhood, growing up alongside their young child. Sadly, when a new baby in the family developed a severe dog allergy, they had no choice but to find Digger a new home. He stayed with them for as long as possible until the right family was found.
His journey to us wasn’t simple — after an unsuccessful adoption where he was attacked by a resident dog, and a short-term foster placement that didn’t work out, Digger arrived at La’al Marras showing signs of stress. With time to decompress in foster care, his true nature shone through, and he was soon matched with the perfect home.
Digger is now thriving with his new family, where he’s become best friends with another young child and is surrounded by love. He is cherished by his adoptive family, while still holding a special place in the hearts of the family who raised him.

Nala
5 Year Old,
Female,
English Bulldog
- Dog Friendly, but Resource Guards
- Cat Friendly
- Children 7+
Our La'al Marra Nala came to us when her human brothers complex health needs meant that Nala was being left home alone and lonely during frequent hospital visits, so her heartbroken Mam made the difficult choice to find Nala a second family to love and cherish her.
Nala joined her family at 8wks old but has done amazingly in her foster placement. She is a complete cuddlebug and prefers snuggling with the fosters teenager. She likes to be tucked in to bed at night, but she is also crate trained and can be comfortably left for a few hours if needed.
Nala has a different dynamic with all of the other dogs in the household. She tends to relax and having grooming pamper sessions with the girlies, and break out her wrestling moves to play with the boys.
As a typical English Bulldog, Nala can get jealous sharing too much of the attention, so needed a family who can split attention between Nala and any other pets. She resource guards, so cannot have toys, treats or be fed alongside another dog.
Nala lives with her new mum & dad, a beautiful American Bulldog and two cats. She enjoys holidays and days out, especially to the farm.

Mabel
4 Year Old,
French Bulldog
Dog Friendly
Cat Friendly
Child Friendly, All Ages
Mabel came to La’al Marras as part of a pair of co-current littermates who had been together since leaving their breeder. Without older dogs to guide them, they had developed some tricky behaviours, constantly bickering with each other and feeling they had to guard against the world. To give them both the best chance at a calmer life, the decision was made to re-home them separately.
When Mabel arrived, she was incredibly underweight (body score 2) and struggling with neglected health needs, including sore feet, reflux, and allergies. With the patience and dedication of a medically experienced foster home, she received the care and time she needed to recover and thrive.
Now, Mabel is loving life in her forever home — she shares her days with a resident cat and, wonderfully, she was adopted into the extended family of our very own Maggie. The two girls now enjoy holidays and outings together, giving the world their trademark side-eye looks and grumpy faces. We couldn’t be happier for this little character.
ADOPTED

Maggie
5 Year Old,
Female,
English Bulldog
Dog Friendly Outside the Home
Cat Friendly
Child Friendly, All Ages
Maggie joined La’al Marras when her dad sadly had to move into residential care. Although his granddaughter’s family welcomed Maggie in, the busy household with very young children proved overwhelming for her, and it was decided she would be happier in a quieter environment.
In foster care, Maggie made friends but soon showed us she preferred having her own space to retreat to when social life got too much — and honestly, we understood. She was given a little holiday break with Laura and her family for some peace and quiet by the sea… and she never looked back. Maggie settled in so well that she only returned to collect her things, as Laura’s family had already fallen in love with her and Maggie made it clear she felt the same.
Now happily adopted, Maggie enjoys life as part of Mabel’s extended family, meaning the two girls often spend holidays together. They potter about on their “mental health walks,” pulling their best grumpy faces at the world, before heading home to their own spaces — just the way Maggie likes it.

Gandalf
3 Year Old
Male
Irish Wolfhound X Greyhound
Dog Friendly
Cat Experience
Child Friendly, All Ages
Gandalf became a La’al Marra when his owner’s health needs sadly meant they could no longer care for him. A goofy, gentle giant with laid-back “hippy” energy, Gandalf wanted nothing more than to be friends with everyone he met.
His first adoption placement didn’t work out, as he wasn’t given the time or space he needed to settle. But Gandalf deserved the very best, so with support from Pads 4 Pooches we were able to secure his perfect forever home — and he struck gold.
Now known as Alfie, he lives happily with his two dog siblings and even joins in with dressage training alongside the horses. He truly hit the jackpot with his adopters, and we couldn’t be more grateful to them for giving him the life he deserves.

Edna
1 Year Old,
Female,
Greyhound X Belgian Malinois
Dog Friendly
Cat Friendly
Child Friendly, All Ages
Edna came to La’al Marras after spending her early life alone in a back yard. She arrived thin, weak, and missing patches of fur, barely able to stand — yet her spirit shone through, and all she wanted was love and cuddles.
Once she was strong and healthy enough, her new mum came across Edna’s profile and fell for her instantly. Though Edna was her first lurcher — and first sighthound of any kind — the pair proved to be a perfect match, learning together as their bond grew.
Now, Edna spends her days living like the pampered princess she was always meant to be, adored and cherished in her forever home.

Willow
1 Year Old
Female
Pocket Bulldog
Dog Friendly
No Cat Experience
Child Friendly, 10yrs+
Willow’s journey with La’al Marras began in the most critical circumstances — she was abandoned with a severe uterine prolapse and given only minutes to live. Thanks to fast action from one of our team, she was rushed to the vets and, against all odds, pulled through.
After her recovery, Willow went into foster care with the same team member who had saved her. But after everything they had been through together, it soon became clear that Willow had already found her forever home. Her foster carer became her “Mumma,” and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
Today, Willow is doted on as the little lap dog she believes herself to be, lifted up for cuddles every day while her mum sings You Are My Sunshine. She’s best friends with her human brother, welcomes a constant stream of foster dogs into her home, and fills the house with her unique repertoire of sounds — from lion roars to crocodile grumbles. Known lovingly as “Princess” or “Happy Hippo,” Willow is living the happiest of ever afters.

Freddy
Approx 4 Year Old,
Male,
Lurcher
No Dogs, Reactive
No Cats
Child Friendly, All Ages
Location: Cumbria, England
Freddy and Charlie came to us on an urgent owner surrender, advised by the SSPCA and Police Scotland. Both boys were in a terrible state, with septic injuries that needed immediate veterinary care.
Freddy is a gentle, loving dog who thrives on human companionship. He loves nothing more than cuddling, following his person around, and even standing on his back legs to wrap you in a hug. He has been fantastic with children of all ages, and is very gentle with them.
Sadly, Freddy’s past trauma left him very fearful around other dogs. With time and patience he has made great progress, but he will always need to be walked with a muzzle due to the risk of off-lead dogs approaching.
Freddy spent many months in foster care, recovering and building trust again. Eventually, with the help of our friends at Pads4Pooches, he found the perfect local adoption. We still see him out and about with his new mum, tail wagging, happy and safe — exactly as he deserves.

Charlie
Approx 2 Year Old,
Male,
Lurcher
Dog Friendly
No Cats
Child Friendly, All Ages
Location: Somerset, England
Charlie arrived with Freddy in the same emergency surrender, both in need of urgent veterinary care after being found in awful condition. As lurchers, Charlie and Freddy faced a particular type of interest locally, where there is high demand for lurchers in hunting circles, so we knew it would give Charlie a much better chance at finding a pet home in another location.
Through the kindness of Happy Landings Rescue in Somerset, Charlie was offered a secure foster placement. Their kennel manager even opened her own home to him while he waited for the right family — something we are eternally grateful for.
Charlie’s sweet nature shone through from the start. He absolutely adores children and has a gentle, affectionate personality that wins hearts wherever he goes. It wasn’t long before he was adopted by a lovely family who saw in him the wonderful companion he is.
From crisis to comfort, Charlie’s journey is a reminder of the difference teamwork, kindness, and safe homes make for dogs like him.

Tyson (Rest in Peace)
Approx 14 Year Old
Male
Staffordshire Bull Terrier
No Dogs
No Cats
Child Friendly
Tyson’s story with La’al Marras began in heartbreaking circumstances. When his owner passed away unexpectedly, family members found him left alone in the home. Our Sarah went out to assess him on behalf of another rescue, but when she arrived, Tyson was pushed into the street, handed over, and the door shut behind him. The rescue who had requested the visit refused to take him in — they had relied on old photos and decided they didn’t want an older dog. So we did what we always do, we stepped in.
Tyson came to us with a long list of challenges — deafness, near-blindness, dementia, Parkinson’s, and other age-related issues. On paper, it sounded like he had little quality of life left, but Tyson showed us otherwise. He was full of joy and energy, bounding over furniture, keeping pace on walks, and charming everyone as the little “ladies’ man” he fancied himself to be. He loved life, and life loved him back.
Though we didn’t expect him to move on from foster care, Tyson surprised us with a miracle. His original home turned out not to be his true beginning — he had once belonged to a family with a little girl who adored him. Years later, that little girl, now grown with children of her own, saw Tyson’s face on her Facebook feed. She recognised him instantly and reached out to us straight away. We couldn’t believe it — but it was true. We packed his bags, waived his fees, and cried with joy for him, Tyson was going home to his little girl!
The time they shared was filled with love, cuddles, and devotion. Tyson spent his final chapter adored by the family who had never forgotten him, and he passed earlier this year surrounded by love.
Tyson left pawprints on every heart he touched, including all of us at La’al Marras. Sometimes fate has a way of working things out — and for Tyson, it meant finding his way back to where he truly belonged.
